*First generation:

It is understood by computer

It is very difficult to under understand

Instruction are given in binary number.

*Second generation:

Use mnemonic ,than numeric operation code.

Language translator required(assemble)

*Third generation :

Instruction are almost English like language.

 No hardware dependency

Compiler/inpreter are required.

*4^th generation:

It is very closer to human language than other highlevel language.

Allow multiple operation to be performed with singal programmer  entered command.

*5^th generation:

Visual tool use to developed the program

Are focused on describing problem space.
